We are pleased to announce six in-person chamber concerts featuring Maxwell String Quartet playing Haydn and Dvorak, on January 18, Max Opferkuch, clarinet, and the Zelter Quartet playing Brahms and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's Clarinet Quintets, on February 2, the Poulenc Trio, on February 14, the Neave Trio playing trios by Louise Farrenc, Germaine Tailleferre, and Ravel, on March 15, the Valencia Baryton Project, on April 25, and Cecil Lytle playing Liszt (late works) and Fats Waller, on May 23. The concerts will start in person at the Athenaeum’s Joan and Irwin Jacobs Music Room at 7:30 PM.
The concerts will be in person at the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library. There are no physical tickets for these events. Your name will be on an attendee list at the front door. Doors open at 7 p.m. Seating is first-come; first-served. These events will be presented in compliance with State of California and County of San Diego health regulations as applicable at the time of each concert. Face coverings are required for attendees, regardless of vaccination status. Event capacity is limited to 70% for now.
